The most common company types can file their changes with the Finnish Trade Register and the Finnish Tax Administration using the online filing service at ytj.fi. Please note that the service is only available in Finnish and in Swedish. Most notifications submitted to the Finnish Trade Register are subject to a fee. Read more about filing changes.

Changes to the Finnish Trade Register and the Finnish Tax Administration: address and contact details

The following company types can file changes to address and contact details using the online filing service in Finnish or in Swedish:

  • limited liability companies and public limited companies
  • private traders (“toiminimi")
  • general or limited partnerships
  • housing companies and mutual real estate limited companies
  • co-operatives, co-operative banks, and savings banks
  • insurance companies, public insurance companies, mutual insurance companies, mutual public insurance companies.

Changes to the Finnish Trade Register: persons responsible for a company


You can file changes to persons responsible for a company or to other persons registered at the Finnish Trade Register.

The following company types can file changes to persons responsible for a company using the online filing service in Finnish or in Swedish:

  • limited liability companies and public limited companies
  • private traders (“toiminimi")
  • general or limited partnerships
  • housing companies and mutual real estate limited companies
  • co-operatives, co-operative banks, and savings banks
  • insurance companies, public insurance companies, mutual insurance companies, mutual public insurance companies.

The persons themselves can notify the register of their resignation or the termination of their appointment free of charge.

Changes to the Finnish Trade Register: company name, parallel company names or auxiliary company names


The following company types can file changes to the company name, parallel company names or auxiliary company names using the online filing service in Finnish or in Swedish:

  • limited liability companies and public limited companies
  • private traders (“toiminimi")
  • general or limited partnerships
  • housing companies and mutual real estate limited companies
  • co-operatives, co-operative banks, and savings banks
  • insurance companies, public insurance companies, mutual insurance companies, mutual public insurance companies.

Changes to the Finnish Trade Register: articles of association, partnership agreement or rules

You can use the online filing service in Finnish or in Swedish to file changes to the articles of association, partnership agreement or rules, and all details that are registered related to them, such as the company name, parallel company name, line of business, and place of registered office.

The following company types can file changes using the online filing service in Finnish or in Swedish:

  • limited liability companies, housing companies, mutual real estate limited companies, insurance companies, mutual insurance companies, and public companies (changes to articles of association)
  • general or limited partnerships (changes to partnership agreement)
  • co-operatives, co-operative banks, and savings banks (changes to rules).

Changes to the Finnish Trade Register: beneficial owner details

You can file beneficial owner details and changes thereto. Beneficial owners themselves can notify the register of the termination of their role as a beneficial owner. The notification is free of charge.

The following company types can file the notification using the online filing service in Finnish or in Swedish:

  • limited liability companies, public limited companies
  • general or limited partnerships
  • co-operatives, savings banks, and co-operative banks
  • insurance companies, public insurance companies, mutual insurance companies, mutual public insurance companies.

Changes to the Finnish Trade Register: share capital

The following company types can file changes to the share capital using the online filing service in Finnish or in Swedish:

  • limited liability companies and public limited companies
  • housing companies and mutual real estate limited companies.

Changes to the Finnish Trade Register: merger and changes to company type

You can use the online filing service in Finnish or in Swedish

  • in subsidiary mergers or absorption mergers, when the acquiring company is a limited liability company
  • when a limited liability company is changed into a housing company
  • when a limited liability company is changed into a mutual real estate limited company
  • when a housing company is changed into a mutual real estate limited company (including conversion of the articles of association to a new electronic form)
  • when a mutual real estate limited company is changed into a housing company (including conversion of the articles of association to a new electronic form).

Changes filed with the Finnish Tax Administration

You can use the online filing service in Finnish or in Swedish to file the following changes with the Finnish Tax Administration only:

  • changes to the VAT Register, the Prepayment Register or the Employer Register, and deregistration from these registers
  • main line of business and financial period to be reported to the Finnish Tax Administration.

The following company types can file the details with the Finnish Tax Administration using the online filing service in Finnish or in Swedish:

  • limited liability companies and public limited companies
  • private traders (“toiminimi")
  • general or limited partnerships
  • housing companies and mutual real estate limited companies
  • co-operatives, co-operative banks, and savings banks
  • insurance companies, public insurance companies, mutual insurance companies, mutual public insurance companies.

Changes submitted to the Finnish Tax Administration only are free of charge.
