Notification of changes - private traders

In Finnish, private traders are often called “toiminimi", “tmi", or “yksityisliike". On the Tax Administration website, they are also called self-employed, and “liikkeenharjoittaja" or “ammatinharjoittaja" in Finnish.

If changes occur within your business, you must immediately file a notification of changes with us to keep your records up-to-date at the PRH Trade Register, and in the VAT Register, Prepayment Register and Employer Register at the Finnish Tax Administration.

Now available: notification of changes online

You can notify us about changes to the following details online:

  • address and contact details
  • company name
  • parallel company name
  • auxiliary company name and its line of business
  • line of business
  • place of registered office
  • details entered in the VAT Register, Prepayment Register and Employer Register
    main line of business to be reported to the Finnish Tax Administration
  • accounting period to be reported to the Finnish Tax Administration.

Most notifications of change to the Trade Register are subject to a fee. It is however free of charge to file changes to your address or contact details. See the prices on the PRH website.

Please note that online filing is only available in Finnish and in Swedish.

If you want to file the notification using paper form Y6, you will find the form at the end of this page. Fill in the form - either in Finnish or in Swedish - on your computer, then print it at A4 size, and send it to the address given on the form.

  • To continue business as a general or limited partnership, fill in form Y6, form Y2, and the Personal Data Form.
  • To continue business as a limited liability company, fill in form Y6, form Y1, Appendix Form 1 in Finnish or in Swedish, and the Personal Data Form.
