Change details of your business online

Who can change their business details online?

Changes to business details can be signed online by:

  • ordinary members of the board of directors in limited liability companies or co-operatives who have been registered at the Trade Register
  • managing directors or house managers
  • private traders
  • partners in general partnerships
  • general partners in limited partnerships.

These persons can also authorise a representative to file online notifications on behalf of the business. A representative can also file notifications without authorisation, but then the notification has to be signed by a person with a responsible position in the business. Read more about authorisation.

Please note: Holders of procuration or persons authorised to represent a company cannot file changes online, and no changes can be filed online if the details of the persons with responsible positions at the business were registered at the Trade Register before 1994.

Currently, you must still use paper forms to report other changes to the PRH Trade Register and to the Tax Administration. Read more about how to notify us about changes.

What do I need to use the service?

To be able to file changes online, you must have a Finnish personal identity code and personal internet banking codes or an electronic identity card (HST card).

You cannot log on to the service using Katso ID or internet banking codes that belong to a business.

Fees for changes to register entries

It is free of charge to notify us about changes to your address or contact details or to file notifications to the Finnish Tax Administration. Other notifications to the Trade Register are subject to a fee. See the price list at prh.fi.

The online service automatically calculates the handling fee, and you can pay it either using your internet banking codes or by credit card after signing the notification. The notification can be paid by someone else than the person filing the notification.

The online service checks the details

Example: How to notify about the board of directors of a limited liability company

The online service checks that the personal identity codes of the persons reported are correct, and that the number of board members corresponds to the articles of association. Attach signed minutes for an election of the board of directors or other bodies. Allowed file formats are pdf, doc and docx.

The following documents are required:

  • general meeting minutes for an election of the board of directors
  • board meeting minutes for an election of the managing director.

The details of board members, managing directors, and house managers registered at the Trade Register before 1994 do not include their personal identity codes, which is why they neither can sign nor complete online notifications. Please inform the Trade Register of their identity codes, either online or on paper, to give them access to online signing. See the price list at prh.fi.

Further information about changes to business address and contact details

You can file changes of address or contact details online for the most common types of companies.

  • Your business must have a valid postal or street address registered at the PRH and the Tax Administration. You may also submit your telephone number, fax number, email address and website address. They are public information and available to anyone in the BIS company search.
  • You can also submit a specific postal address to the Tax Administration. An address only submitted to the Tax Administration is not public.
  • You can also select when the changes take effect or expire. The day the changes take effect cannot be in the past.
  • We do not send any separate extract from the register about the changes to you; instead, you can check for updates in the BIS company search. Read more about the search.
  • Please note that you have to file changes to your business adress or contact details with a separate online notification. If you want to file other changes to your business details, you can do it in the same session but using a different online notification. Address or contact details will be automatically updated on the PRH Trade Register but other changes will first be checked by the PRH.
